Workouts exported as JSON can be imported back into Trayn. The import does not have to be from the same environment and, if references are not available in the target environment, they can be created during the import
You can import workouts
as new session templates, or
into an athlete's workout list.
Import as session templates
Navigate to the Micro overview page and open the ⋮ menu next to the Create new template button. Select Import Session Templates from the menu.
This opens a new page to guide you through the import process. Once the import is completed, you will see the new sessions on the overview page.
Import into athlete workout list
If want to use an import only for an individual athlete, use the athlete's workout list. Open an athlete's profile page and navigate to the tab Workout List. Then click the link Import.
Imported workouts are added to the athlete's workout list as "Private Copies", i.e. they are only available to this athlete.
Importing workouts
A full workout has a lot of information. To make sure the workouts from the import file map correctly to your environment, the import dialog supports you along the way. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to load all data needed to resolve the references in your environment
Select workouts to import
The page lists the workouts from the import file. You can click on the name of a workout to see a preview. If the file contains multiple workouts, you can select which of them you want to import.
Map exercises, parameters, and training zones
Depending on the contents of the selected workouts, you may have to configure how referenced data (i.e. exercises, exercise presets, test parameter, and training zones) is handled.
The following steps are taken to find the correct reference
Map by ID: If there is already a reference with the same ID, this reference will be reused. This means, if an exercise has a different name, but the same ID as the one used in the workout, the imported workout will use this exercise regardless of its name
Match by name: When importing into a new environment, or when the exercise was deleted after an export, Trayn will try to match by name. You will see the name of the exported reference (exercise/parameter/training zone) and a drop-down menu with the possible matches in your target environment.
Create a new reference: If no match was found by ID or name, Trayn will suggest to add a new reference based on the exported data. You can still override this by selecting an existing reference or just ignore this part of the import.
Importing training zone models is only possible, if the full Training Zones feature is enabled in the target environment. This feature has to be enabled through your subscription.
Once all references are resolved, you can click the Import button at the end of the page. Depending on the amount of data to be imported, this may take a few seconds to complete. The page will update again and show a summary with links to the imported workouts and other data entities.
