How can you design workouts like the one on the spreadsheet?
In this article we will show you how you can create the specific training routine from the spreadsheet below in Trayn.
Start designing your workout from Scratch by clicking the green “+” button in the upper right corner - or filter the pre-built workout templates in your micro template gallery.
After that, choose an appropriate name and add a description for the workout so you can find it more easily in the template gallery.
Use the search box to add an unlimited number of exercises to your template or open your library directly from the workout editor by clicking the "Open Library" button.
Additionally, you can add new exercises manually while planning (see red frame) just by typing in the name of the new exercise into the search box.
As a next step, add training parameters / training variables that are needed to set up workload details for training volume and intensity. Changes are saved automatically while planning!
To chose suitable training parameters from a drop-down list, you need to press the "Add parameter" button first. Some parameters will be needed to individualize the workload for athletes when you assign the template.
After that, you can select the appropriate unit for the parameter on the right. Chosen units can either have a general (kg, pounds) or an individual value (% body weight, % 1RM, etc).
You can even create supersets by clicking on the "COMBINE" Icon (red arrow) between two exercises on the left. In our example, exercise 2 will then automatically be renamed to exercise 1b, exercise 3 will then automatically be renamed to exercise 1c.
In addition to that, you can easily change the order of exercises. Select an exercise by hoovering over its number on the left. The shape of the cursor will change. Then "grab" the exercise and drag it to a different location.
The same procedure can be done if you need to move parameters to other positions.
With Trayn you can also import an already pre-built workout template. Different icons (on the left) display pre-built workout sessions and starred (favorite) exercises.
