Import your exercises to Trayn

Updated over 12 months ago

You can import your existing exercises from a CSV file into Trayn to have them ready for your workouts. To do this, go to the import/export section as administrator:

  • Click on the cog icon next to your profile image in the navigation bar on the right.

  • Select Admin from the drop down menu to go to the administration interface.

  • In the admin section, in the left navigation, got to Import / Export

In the Exercises section, you will see a section for Exercise Import

Exercise Import section of the Import / Export page in the admin area.

From here, the easiest way is to download the sample (link in the grey box, just below the Upload button), add your exercises into the structure, and then upload the result.

Details

There are a few options you can change:

  • The owner lets you select the trainer which will be the owner of the newly imported exercises. If you have multiple trainers on your account, choose the one who should manage the new exercises

  • If the check box Overwrite same name is activated, new exercises that already exist in your environment and have the same name will be overwritten. This is especially useful for consecutive imports: if you want to manipulate the existing exercises in a spreadsheet, export them to csv, then edit them wherever you feel comfortable, and import the changes.

  • If there's a column LocalId in the CSV any existing exercise with a matching ID will be overwritten with the data from the imported CSV file. This column is included in the exercise CSV export.

  • The CSV separator is especially useful, if you have a different input file, e.g. using ";" as separator
