Exporting macro plans

To export a macro plan, open it and click the three-dot menu (โ‹ฎ) in the top right corner. Then select the Export option:

A dialog will appear which allows you to configure the file format:

  • JSON: Converts the plan to a structured JSON file with additional meta-information. Files exported in JSON format can be imported again into Trayn or other applications supporting this format. You can additionally configure which data will be exported.

  • CSV: Converts the plan to CSV so that it can be used in a spreadsheet. The exported file contains only the data for weeks

Importing macro plans

Only plans exported in JSON format can be imported into Trayn. This is also a way to share your plan with other trainers or organizations.

On the macro overview page, you can start an import by clicking the Import link next to the Create new Plan button in the top-right corner

Note: The import link and the button to create new plans is only shown if you can create new macro plans. You may not see this, if your organisation has reached the limit of available macro plans. Unlimited macros plans are available in the full Macro package

After clicking Import, select a JSON files with a macro plan. You can then adapt the name, description, and start date of the plan as you see fit.

Use the Preview button to render the plan. A table will show up below the import form. If everything looks correct to you, click the Import button. The app will open the imported plan as soon as the import is complete finished. You can then edit any row configuration or values like in any other plan.

Training areas

In case the original plan referenced training areas in some of its configuration rows, you have to check if they are mapped correctly. You can't start the import process until all training areas are mapped or set to "Don't import". If the plan was imported with another language than you are using when importing, the automatic mapping may not work properly.

Importing periodization models

After you have exported a plan with its periodization model, you can import the model into another existing plan. Click the "Periodization" button on the detail page of the plan you want to update and navigate to the "Import Periodization" section. Select the JSON file and the periodization model will be applied to the plan.
