Private and Published Content

Choose the content everyone should see and let trainers develop content only they can see

Updated over 5 years ago

In an organization with many trainers, you might want to control, whether all content is visible for everyone, or just for the person who created it. Trayn provides an optional publishing flow for workout sessions and micro templates, which allows you to manage this.

If the publishing flow is activated, new content will be initially private, i.e. only visible for its creator. If it should be shared with others, it can be published and then becomes visible for all trainers of your environment. Publishing can only be done by an administrator.

To activate this flow, navigate to the admin interface, open Environment and turn on Use Publishing Flow.

There are two related settings:

  • Protect Published Content: When activated, content cannot be changed once it is published. To change it, you can always make it private, apply your changes, and then publish it again.

  • Trainers can request publication: If this is active, trainers can send a request to their administrators to get their content published.

The publishing status of workout sessions and micro templates is shown in the overview and on the edit screen of each session or template.

Content can be published from the edit screen: Just click on the button showing the current status to open the publishing dialog from where you can publish a session/template or make it private again. If the Trainers can request publication setting is active, they'll be able to send requests from this dialog.

In the admin interface there's a list showing all publishing requests. Administrators can conveniently confirm the requests from here.

Also, have a look at other environment settings.
