Updated over 7 months ago

When editing a questionnaire template or modifying the questions of an active questionnaire, you can select the languages that will be available for your respondents.

Enable translations for a questionnaire

To get started, click the Languages button at the top of the template form

New templates will use your current app language as default language. You can add additional languages from the drop-down menu. You can also pick a languages currently not supported in Trayn.

Note: You can also enable translations for existing questionnaires without translations. In this case, your current app language will be assumed as default language for existing texts. If there is a mismatch, change your current app language before enabling translations, i.e. you're using the app in German but your questionnaire should be in English.

After you have picked two or more languages, additional inputs for each language will appear for name, description, questions, yes/no-labels, and answer options.

Incomplete translations

If you don't provide translations for all fields, respondents will see the variant of one the available translations. For example, if you offer a questionnaire in English and Portuguese, but not all texts are translated to Portuguese, a respondent using the Portuguese translation, will see some English questions or labels where no Portuguese translation is available.

The questionnaire shown in the screenshots above is missing Portuguese translation for the labels "very poor" ... "excellent" in question 3.
