Copy and paste workouts

Trayn allows you to copy-and-paste workouts between different parts of the app.

Updated over 11 months ago

Workout sessions can be copied and pasted in various parts of the application. For instance you can copy a workout from an athlete's calendar and paste it into a micro template or into the calendar of another athlete.

How does this work?

This feature relies on the clipboard of your computer. When a workout is copied, a link is stored in the clipboard. When this text is pasted in the right context, the app loads the workout and creates a copy.

Where and how to copy a workout

You can copy workouts from the following places

  • The context menu of session templates in the micro overview

  • When editing a workout, by pressing Ctrl+C on PC or Cmd+C on Mac

  • Through the "Copy" button on micro template events

  • When viewing a micro template event or a calendar event, by pressing Ctrl+C on PC or Cmd+C on Mac

The first time you copy a workout, the browser will ask you for permission to read from the system clipboard.

How to paste workouts

Once a reference to a workout is copied to the clipboard, it may be pasted in the one of the following areas

  • In any calendar where you can create events. Pressing Ctrl+V on PC or Cmd+V on Mac or clicking the "Paste" button in the lower right corner will open a dialog where you can select the date and time for a new event with the copied workout.

  • When editing a micro template

    • Either by pressing Ctrl+V on PC or Cmd+V on Mac: A dialog will open to select the day where to paste the workout,

    • or by clicking one of the "Paste" buttons (only visible if you have copied a workout) on one of the micro template's days: The workout will be copied to that day.

  • When editing a workout session template: Pressing Ctrl+V on PC or Cmd+V on Mac will merge the copied workout into the workout you're editing.

  • On the micro overview: Pressing Ctrl+V on PC or Cmd+V on Mac opens a dialog and you can set a new name for the copy of the workout.
