Add your own content with videos or images from Dropbox.

Updated over 2 years ago

Because we thought that you might want to add your own content, we have added the option to add a link to images or videos in your Dropbox. If you do not know Dropbox yest, see a short introduction on their homepage.

You do not have to upload anything, you can reuse what you have on Dropbox. We have made this as simple as possible, but you might want to know how it works in detail and we hope you find the information you are looking for here.

Add Dropbox link

We start with the button ...
Wherever you see the +Add button in the context of Dropbox, you can just click it to select anything from your dropbox.

As soon as you click the button, we ask Dropbox to show you a list of files from your own Dropbox.

Dropbox will check, whether you are not logged into your Dropbox account (in the current browser). If you are not logged in, they will ask you for username and password.

It is important to note that we do not know anything about the information exchanged between you and Dropbox. All the communication between your browser and Dropbox is private and encrypted.

If you do not want to log in every time, don't forget to click the Remember me check box. Note that, if somebody has access to your computer and browser data, he may be able to access your dropbox, when this setting is active.

The authentication dialog is skipped, if you are already logged in to Dropbox.

Dropbox will show you the files from your own Dropbox to select one. You can browse by folders, search, and even upload new files right from this dialog (we still do not know what is in there)

As soon as you have selected the image or video you want to use, Dropbox will generate a new link together with some information (title, file type, preview image) that we include into the list, when we display the link.
