To log in into your Trayn account, you have to provide your username (your e-mail address) and a password. If you want to better protect your account, you can setup a second authentication factor (your password being the first factor) to your account.
Trayn supports time-based one-time password (TOTP) as second factor.
Setup
To use TOTPs you need to install a authenticator app, i.e. Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator or an alternative app from some other software vendor.
To enable two-factor authentication in Trayn, open the page "Password, Authentication and logged in devices" from your profile.
In the "Two-factor Authentication" section, click on the "Activate" button to start the setup workflow.
If you can't find the section, log out and in again.
If you didn't do this before, you will be prompted to confirm your e-mail address. Please make sure, your account uses an e-mail address you have access to. After your e-mail address has been confirmed and you have re-authenticated with your current password, a QR code will be shown to you. Scan it with your authenticator app, then enter a 6 digit TOTP from your app into the confirmation field to verify the setup and click save.
In case you're using a authenticator app on your desktop computer or laptop, you can also perform the setup by copying and pasting the text code shown below the QR code.
The next time you log in or when performing some other sensitive operations (i.e. changing your password), you will be prompted to enter a code generated by your authenticator app.
Disable two-factor Authentication
You can disable two-factor authentication for your account from the "Password, Authentication and logged in devices" page in your profile. Click the button with the trash can icon in the "Two-factor Authentication" section. You will be prompted for your current password and a TOTP code.
In case you have lost access to your authenticator app, ask the administrator of your environment for assistance. They can de-activate two-factor from the administration panel.
